Outfit Inspiration: Rachel Bilson

I have been following Rachel Bilson's street style for years now. No matter what the situation, weather, or season she manages to look perfectly chic and on trend yet classic and put together. With the beginnings of fall right around the corner I thought this look would be a perfect transition for a day when it's just chilly enough to need a light sweater and jeans.

For my re-creation I went with a navy J. Crew Jackie sweater the Steve Madden Tanngoo booties. Paired with light wash boyfriend jeans, an adorable polka dot scarf and classic Ray Ban Wayfarers and you are set for a day running errands or getting coffee on campus with classmates! What do y'all think about this outfit? Do y'all love Rachel's style as much as I do? What do you wear when the seasons are in limbo?

Can't wait to hear what you think!

Fall 2012 Ad Campaigns

I would honestly be perfectly happy to wake up and magically be inside of any of the Fall 2012 Ads I have been seeing in my favorite magazines lately.

Tommy Hilfiger

Ralph Lauren

Michael Kors

Hermรจs

Belstaff

Are y'all just dying right now?? The settings and scenery, the rich saturated colors, supple leather, thick sweaters, sleek tweed, puffer vests, structured jackets, luxurious scarves, pops of leopard and faux fur are all making me weak in the knees. I am completely smitten with all of these ad campaigns and have added so many items to my wish list because of them! Hats off to the fashion world for this seasons trends, I am head over heels in love.

Are y'all as completely obsessed as I am? Let me know!

Chunky Knits

Is it sad that I'm excited for the temperature to go below 80 next week? Sigh. The mornings here have been getting cool(ish) lately and it's making me chomp at the bit for Fall! One of my favorite parts of the upcoming season by far is snuggling inside of a thick sweater in the chilly air while sipping a warm drink. There is something so effortless and comfy yet chic and cool about chunky knits.

The great thing about sweaters is that they are so versatile! They look great dressed up with heels and a statement necklace or dressed down with leggings and a scarf. Layer them over a button down or under a crisp jacket and you can't go wrong. In my opinion, the chunkier, the better! There is something about thick, cozy sweaters that makes me feel so petite and I am counting down the minutes days until I can wrap up in one of these beauties! How do y'all feel about thick knits? Yay or Nay?

See ya never Summer ;)

Friday Favorites

Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday! (sorry, I had to!) I'm soo happy it's the weekend and my first few days of class behind me. I really think I am going to enjoy this semester and love the fact that I know at least one person in all my classes! Since it's Friday I thought I would share some things that are currently at the top of my favorites list!

Coffee- I honestly don't know how I lived without it for so long! It's now the best part of my morning!

Zumba- I am now instructing Zumba at my campus gym and I fall more in love with it every class! It is such a fun way to exercise and I can't get enough!

Boy Meets World- Now that we have Directv I can watch ABC Family again and more importantly, one of my favorite shows ever! It's a little dose of the 90's every morning and I love it.

This photo shoot from Marie Claire from ages ago- It was shot at the Plaza Hotel with Eloise in mind and I can't get enough of the girly details and pure decadence! It is currently the main feature on my inspiration board!

I hope y'all have a fabulous weekend! It's the last weekend without college football (!!!!) and I absolutely cannot wait until September 1st when Clemson kicks off it's season against Auburn in the Georgia Dome! What are some of your Friday Favorites and what do you think about mine? Can't wait to hear your feedback!

Happy Weekending!

First Day of School Outfit

Tomorrow I officially become an Junior and an "upperclassman" at Clemson University (sidenote: AHH!).  With the first day back to school being this week for many of us I thought I would post a look into to what I am planning on wearing and using during my first few days of class!

First Day Outfits

In class I like to keep my outfits simple and classic with a pop of color. On top I would go with an oxford shirt or breton striped tee toped with a pink Jackie Cardigan and for bottoms you can never go wrong with either navy or khaki basics!

School Supplies
My book bag isn't polka dotted but it is a navy with a pink monogram! I think it's going to be perfect for lugging my books to and from the library all semester. And I am so in love with my 2012-2013 Lilly Pulitzer Agenda! It even comes with bright whimsical stickers which make decorating and planning out each month just so much more fun. When it comes to writing utensils I am very loyal to the Sharpie brand. I hate using pencils and the Sharpie pens and highlighters are perfect for note taking and prepping for exams!

Are y'all ready for another school year to start? What are you planning on wearing for your FDO? Can't wait to hear your feedback!!

Essie Fall 2012

Are y'all loving the Essie Fall 2012 line as much as I am? I just picked up the four pack from Ulta last week and I just can't stop staring at the bottles! The colors are just so rich and pretty! The pack I purchased includes Stylenomics, Head Mistress, Don't Sweater It and Skirting the Issue. The smaller size bottles are perfect because I never seem to finish a full bottle and with these shades most likely being passing trends I am not wasting money on polish I won't use for more than a few years. Plus, I get four shades for the price to two regular bottles! It's really a win-win!

And who keeps their nails the same color for more than a week anyways? I know personally I am way too polish-ADD and indecisive for that ;) Can't wait to try these beauties out when the weather cools down! What do y'all think about the line?

Happy Monday!

Summer 2012- A Look Back

Happy Friday! This is officially the last weekend of summer for me- classes start this Wednesday the 22nd! With the lazy summer days winding down and the craziness of september looming I thought I would take a look back at the favorite parts of the past three months!

The best thing I did this summer by FAR was study abroad in Brussels, Belgium! This month long adventure in Europe (and the UK!) totally opened my eyes and satisfied my intense longing for world travel... For now anyways ;)

Once I got back home in mid June my summer consisted of spending time with friends and family, trips to my beach house, Atlanta, and Charleston, watching the Olympics, moving into my new apartment, and working a lot

It's been a great summer but I'm so ready for fall! What was the best part of your summer? Are you sad to see it go or as ready for pumpkin spice lattees, sweaters, and crisp air as I am?

Bring it on September!

Statement vs Dainty Jewelry

I have never been a huge jewelry person. I have my signature pieces I wear every day, like a ring that was my mom's, the pearl earrings my Grandmother gave me for High School Graduation and my gold Michael Kors watch that was a Christmas gift from my boyfriend (see photo below) but when it comes necklaces I can't seem to make up my mind.

I have so many. If y'all read my post about my new apartment you saw the picture of my jewelry hanging up, but honestly I have a hard time deciding which of them to wear. Lately, my biggest delima is deciding between what type of necklace to wear- dainty or statement. In recent years statement necklaces have been all the rage but sometimes I love the simplicity of a small, understated necklace.

Statement vs Dainty

I am currently wearing a necklace, similar to the small butterfly Dogeared necklace, that was my mom's ages ago and I love how simple yet pretty it looks. On the other hand, I am dying for a J. Crew bubble necklace!! Which do y'all prefer? Dainty or statement?

Let the battle begin!

How To Dress Cute For a Football Game

Hello lovelies! I simply cannot believe that I start my Junior year a week from today! It amazes me how fast time is flying by! With another school year coming up I am getting extremely excited about fall and everything that comes along with it- most specifically, Clemson Football!

There is nothing like Clemson in the fall- it is a magic I can't even describe. I get giddy just thinking about tailgating, seeing orange everywhere, the buzz of excitement in the air, and watching my Tigers rub Howard's Rock and run down The Hill!

Last season!
In the South, gamedays are really more like a fashion show! Girls get decked out in their cutest attire and guys even snazz up in button downs and bowties (swoon). With football season so soon (seventeen days, not that I'm counting..) I thought I would post some outfits inspired by Clemson that I might be seen rocking this fall!

Gameday Glam

I love the thought of doing a white dress with purple and orange accents and with cowboy boots you can't go wrong! With a flowy one shoulder purple dress I would do orange monogramed Jacks and with the chevron print orange I'd keep it simple with classic platinum Navajos. What do y'all think about these looks? Are you as excited for football season as I am??

Go Tigers!

Small Apartment Decorating Tips

I apologize for my lack of posts the last four days! On Thursday I began the move into my new apartment and haven't had a moment to breath until now. After two weeks of being "homeless" aka in between apartments I am ecstatic to say I am FINALLY blogging from my own desk!! I could not be more relieved or happy to be settled and in one place with all of my furniture and decor set up and my clothing organized!

I am truly in love with how everything came together and thought I would do a little "tour" of my apartment for y'all because I am so proud of how much we've done compared to how it was the day we moved in! (You would not believe the state the previous tennants left it in...ew!) Brace yourself for oodles of pictures- Here we go!

Makenzie, my roommate, painted the chevron canvases!

Monogramed pillow cases!

Current inspiration board!

So obviously, I ended up using my purple bedding and not the Lilly. For some reason, when I had the Lilly comforter on my bed it just did not feel right. I did not feel at home at all and I missed the fluffiness of my down comforter! The moment I put it back on my bed I instantly felt "right" again, if that makes sense. What do y'all think about our place?? We are planning to stay here until we graduate which it will be at least two years so we wanted it to be as "homey" as possible!

Can't wait to hear your feedback!
