Statement vs Dainty Jewelry

I have never been a huge jewelry person. I have my signature pieces I wear every day, like a ring that was my mom's, the pearl earrings my Grandmother gave me for High School Graduation and my gold Michael Kors watch that was a Christmas gift from my boyfriend (see photo below) but when it comes necklaces I can't seem to make up my mind.

I have so many. If y'all read my post about my new apartment you saw the picture of my jewelry hanging up, but honestly I have a hard time deciding which of them to wear. Lately, my biggest delima is deciding between what type of necklace to wear- dainty or statement. In recent years statement necklaces have been all the rage but sometimes I love the simplicity of a small, understated necklace.

Statement vs Dainty

I am currently wearing a necklace, similar to the small butterfly Dogeared necklace, that was my mom's ages ago and I love how simple yet pretty it looks. On the other hand, I am dying for a J. Crew bubble necklace!! Which do y'all prefer? Dainty or statement?

Let the battle begin!

How To Dress Cute For a Football Game

Hello lovelies! I simply cannot believe that I start my Junior year a week from today! It amazes me how fast time is flying by! With another school year coming up I am getting extremely excited about fall and everything that comes along with it- most specifically, Clemson Football!

There is nothing like Clemson in the fall- it is a magic I can't even describe. I get giddy just thinking about tailgating, seeing orange everywhere, the buzz of excitement in the air, and watching my Tigers rub Howard's Rock and run down The Hill!

Last season!
In the South, gamedays are really more like a fashion show! Girls get decked out in their cutest attire and guys even snazz up in button downs and bowties (swoon). With football season so soon (seventeen days, not that I'm counting..) I thought I would post some outfits inspired by Clemson that I might be seen rocking this fall!

Gameday Glam

I love the thought of doing a white dress with purple and orange accents and with cowboy boots you can't go wrong! With a flowy one shoulder purple dress I would do orange monogramed Jacks and with the chevron print orange I'd keep it simple with classic platinum Navajos. What do y'all think about these looks? Are you as excited for football season as I am??

Go Tigers!

Small Apartment Decorating Tips

I apologize for my lack of posts the last four days! On Thursday I began the move into my new apartment and haven't had a moment to breath until now. After two weeks of being "homeless" aka in between apartments I am ecstatic to say I am FINALLY blogging from my own desk!! I could not be more relieved or happy to be settled and in one place with all of my furniture and decor set up and my clothing organized!

I am truly in love with how everything came together and thought I would do a little "tour" of my apartment for y'all because I am so proud of how much we've done compared to how it was the day we moved in! (You would not believe the state the previous tennants left it in...ew!) Brace yourself for oodles of pictures- Here we go!

Current inspiration board!

So obviously, I ended up using my purple bedding and not the Lilly. For some reason, when I had the Lilly comforter on my bed it just did not feel right. I did not feel at home at all and I missed the fluffiness of my down comforter! The moment I put it back on my bed I instantly felt "right" again, if that makes sense. What do y'all think about our place?? We are planning to stay here until we graduate which it will be at least two years so we wanted it to be as "homey" as possible!

Can't wait to hear your feedback!

Apartment Bliss

With college move-in season upon us I can't help but drool at all of the beautiful rooms and decor I see all over the blogosphere and of course, Pinterest.  I absolutely love decorating. Every single time one of my closest friends from home, Heidi, and I would get together when we were younger we would rearrange my bedroom. We would lock ourselves in my room for hours moving and deciding what looked best where until we got it exactly right and now, ten years later, I still love it!

Current inspiration- simple elegance

It amazes me how much my tastes can change from year to year. My family has done it's share of moving (same area- different homes) in my life and every move produced a different decor scheme. One bedroom I was obsessed with bright pink and green, the next I was all about purple, and the next I couldn't get enough plain white with pops of blue. My freshman year of college I bought an lilac and teal Urban Outfitters duvet cover (see photo below) that I still love, but after two consistent years of use I am ready for a change!

Freshman year dorm (ignore the weird coloring)
Sophomore year apartment

When I was in my pink and green phase years ago I bought this Lilly Pulitzer bedding (see photo below). I haven't used it in years but I decided this year I am going to bring it back! It's great because the flip side is plain pink so if I get tired of the pattern I can just turn it over and have a whole new feel! Plus it's Lilly and just makes me happy to look at!

Not my actual room but I have the same bedding!

With the comforter being pretty busy I plan to keep the rest of my decor simplfied by using white accessories and pretty vases. I can't wait to see how it all comes together after I move in on Friday! I will definitely be posting pictures so be on the lookout! Do y'all love decorating just as much as I do? What do you think about my bedding?

Let me know what you think!
