Lusting for Lenox

I rarely allow myself to online shop, or even browse, stores that my college-girl budget just can't afford. However, last night I made an exception and wandered over to the Tory Burch site during one of my many study breaks, and oh man did I see some pretty things. There were great bags and sunglasses, but nothing caught my eye quite like these babies-

As an added bonus- they also come in navy! #swoon

Perfect classic colors, tortoise accents, and TB quality? These beauties are definitely a trifecta. Is it too soon to start my Christmas list?

How to Style: Wallabees

Happy Friday y'all! This weekend is homecoming which is one of my favorite times of year here in Clemson! All week sororities and fraternities have been building huge floats on Bowman Field, and tonight we have Tigerama which is our annual student-run pep rally (and the 2nd largest in the nation!).

This week I wrote a post for Modern Magnolias about how to style your Wallabees. These quirky shoes can be hard to style so if you're at a loss go, check it out!!

Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!

Looks For Less: Quilted Jacket

Today is the first day I've actually had to pull my jacket out of the back of my closet, and I am way too excited! I got a Barbour for Christmas last year and was completely addicted to it throughout the winter. I anticipate this fall will be the exact same. However, if I had to pick a second coat to add to my closet it would definitely be a quilted barn jacket! This classic outwear staple is back is a big way this season, and I've been seeing them everywhere! Here's my favorites-

Quilted

This quilted edition of their famous barn jacket is just too too perfect for words. Gold hardware, rich autumnal hues, and a corduroy collar? Sign. Me. Up.

I've said it again and again, Old Navy has been killing it lately. Their version of the quilted jacket is a great, affordable option if you want to try out this preppy jacket without spending a substantial amount of cash!

This past weekend was the first time I've been in a C. Wonder store (I'm looking at you Charleston, SC), and I was so impressed! The store has such a fun look, and all of the clothes/shoes/accessories are completely to die for.

Do you have a quilted jacket? Which jacket would you choose from the options above, and how would you style it? Can't wait to hear!

Style Crush: The Rat Pack

I'm not sure if I've shared this before, but I am really into music from the 1940's-1960's. That shouldn't be too much of a surprise since I'm such an addict to all things classic. I just love the jazzy styles of Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, and am pretty much obsessed with all the members of the Rat Pack.  They're just the epitome of cool, and I am so inspired by their style! You never saw any of these gentlemen wearing anything but their best at all times. I think we could all take a lesson from them!

So awesome, right? One of the easiest ways (as a girl) to pay homage to their great style is a structured felt hat! (as seen in the photos above). I know I post about hats a good deal, but they are so versatile and can make any outfit extra special. I'm even more into this look lately because I finally got a felt hat of my own! Now if only the weather would just cool down enough for me to try out one of these fabulous hat-centric styles:

Just dying of the chicness, seriously. Have y'all tried a felt hat yet? It takes some courage but I know that come late fall/winter my topper will be in serious closet rotation!

Happy Autumn

Tomorrow is the official first day of fall- hallelujah! I sorry to say that I am not sad to see summer go, fall is my favorite season of the year for so many reasons. I love the lack of humidity, the crisp leaves, apple picking, the beautiful colors, sweater weather, I could go on and on. Here's a few of my favorites from my autumn Pinterest board-

The weather won't be chilly here for a while, but I can still pretend with the best of them! I hope y'all have a wonderful first weekend of fall!

The Perfect Turtleneck

I read somewhere this summer that turtlenecks would be a big trend come fall, and immediately got really excited. There is something so classic, intellectual, and sleek about these uniquely shaped sweaters that I just love. They give off a fabulously collegiate vibe and add a dash of chic to any ensemble. Don't they just make you think of Audrey or Blair Waldorf?

After browsing around online I think I've discovered the best turtleneck of the season- The Gap Luxlight Sweater:

Perfect Turtleneck

It comes in tons of great colors, and is made of a mix of cotton and silk- giving it a super comfy feel. I hate turtlenecks that are made with wool because they constantly make me itch and sneeze (am I the only one that happens to??) This sweater is perfect for tricky fall weather- you can push the sleeves up for a warmer day or keep them down when it turns chilly! I love the look of a turtleneck with jeans, but think it would also look so adorable with the skinny cords that are all the rage this season.

Do any of y'all have this sweater? How do you style a turtleneck? Can't wait to hear!

Old Navy Fall 2013

I vividly remember the days when Old Navy was simply the place were everyone bought those screen printed American Flag t-shirts each Fourth of July. In the past few years they have made tremendous leaps and bounds with their designs and are now one of my go-to stores for stylish, affordable clothing.

I posted about their Fall 2012 collection (and how it was so similar to J. Crew) last year, but I may love their Fall 2013 collection even more! There are so many great items from quilted jackets, to suede booties, to skinny cords- I love it all!

Old Navy Fall '13

The colors and textures in this collection are just gorgeous. So far I've gotten my hands on the olive green skinnies, turquoise blouse, and emerald flats- but my next purchase will definitely be the plum cords and the tan sweater dress! Have you been as obsessed with ON as I have lately? What pieces are your favorites? I can't wait to see what they do next!

Tommy Hilfiger Fall 2013

So while everyone else in the fashion world is looking forward to/posting about the Spring 2014 collections showing at New York Fashion Week, over here in the real world we're just starting to think about Fall 2013!

The daytime weather here in SC won't really cool down for at least a month, but the early mornings are slowly starting to get that hint of chill in the air and it makes me so excited for the season to come. Last year I made an inspiration board with my favorite ads and fashion spreads from the September issues. Here's my board from last year-

The 2012 board featured lots of pics from the J. Crew Style Guide, Essie autumn collection, and Longchamp. However, my absolute favorite was the Tommy Hilfiger 2012 ad campaign (blogged about here). I wondered if TH would be able to top themselves this autumn, and obviously I shouldn't have doubted them. This year's campaign is just as wonderful, and I may even like it better because its setting (college!) is relevant to my age group.

Are you not dying? The campaign was centered around "Chloe goes to college" and the classic collegiate feel of the photos makes me wish everyone at my college dressed this fabulously every day! I'm loving the saturated colors (yellow, teal, orange), the great textures (velvet /corduroy), and the incorporation of herringbone. Seriously, can I just be Chloe? Le sigh. For now I'll keep daydreaming I attend this gorgeous autumnal college where everyone looks ridiculously perfect at all times. What's your favorite Fall 2013 campaign?

September Oaks Vineyards

Sorry for missing Wednesday's post! Life got in the way a little bit, but I'm back and will try not to miss any more!

I've been on a roll with these non-fashion posts lately like never before, but I'm enjoying writing things a little more personal, so just bare with me! Today I'd like to share a bit about my family's winery- September Oaks Vineyards!

I could write about SOV for days, but Paprika Southern just wrote a great article about us so I'll let them do the talking! Go check it out! Happy Friday!!

So Long, Summer

Well here it is folks, the day white clothing fades to the bottom of drawers and seersucker gets pushed to the back of our closets- Labor Day. (PS- if you don't know why that is, check out this post I wrote on the issue of the no-white rule)

I had an amazing last weekend of August (and wearing white bottoms) mostly because Clemson WON against the University of Georgia (38-35). I've been smiling since Saturday night and I don't anticipate that going away any time soon. Here's a few snaps from the weekend-
